Garden!

Back from the beach and playing in the garden. Mum is not very keen on me getting a job - she never had one because she married Daddy straight after school and had me - but I think I will get bored after a few weeks with no-one but my family to talk to. Not yet, though. Going to visit Seamus soon anyway. I am liking being able to relax now NEWTs

He's not much of a writer at the best of times, is he? And now I think all the work around NEWTs has put him off the written word for life.

I think getting a job would be a great idea. There's no harm in earning some money anyway.

I think so too. I wouldn't tell my mum this, but I don't really like the idea of being completely dependent on a man anyway. Even my daddy.

Hee. Are you going to be something of a femenist, Lav? To be completely honest, I think I'm always going to be a little bit dependant on other people - but, yes, I agree. Being completely dependant on a man seems a bit... crippling, maybe? But then it'd be the same if you were grown up and completely dependant on another woman, like a friend or something. But I suppose it's not so common, that.

Oh, I don't think so, I like wizards. I think I mostly just don't like the idea of being lazy and relying on other people to work hard so I can sit around. I mean, if you have a baby, or if you actually can't work because you have no legs or something, that's different. Also it seems like if you live off handouts forever you'll never actually grow up, in a way, which would be sad.
