Cheap hotels in London

Can anyone recommend any cheap hotels/B&Bs in London?  The more central the better.  I've been asked for recommendations by several people who are coming to visit and I don't know what to tell them.  There are about a thousand hotels on Gower Street but I don't know if any of them are affordable and/or any good.

I have always had a lot of luck with the places around the Queensway tube station. Very convenient location, right next to Hyde Park, and very affordable for inner London.
