Hey Musos!

Does anyone have any idea where I can sell some old music magazines?  I'm trying to get rid of quite a few copies of NME and Melody Maker going back to the early 90s.  I don't want to sell them on Ebay as there are too many to justify the hassle.  So before I recycle them, does anyone know of anyone/where that would buy this kind of thing?

Thanks. This is a good suggestion, though I'm not sure I can be bothered with all the hassle of photographing and describing and posting, so I'm hopeful that there's somewhere I can take them all and be done with it.

Sensible suggestion though.

Thanks very much. I'll definitely check out the place on Brewer Street. I'm not really bothered about getting lots of money for them. I just want them to go to a good home. ;-)

How about The Vintage Magazine Shop,39 Brewer Street, W1.

They use to have a whole stack of them down in the basement. I think they have to be in fairly good nick though OR a collectable issue, like the death of Kurt Cobain on the front cover

How about getting along to your local car boot sale & setting up a stall!
Then you can clear out everything you don't want any more as well as the mags...

All you need is a car with a boot apparently.....cheap as chips!

I've done car boot sales before, and got rid of quite a lot of stuff. But now all I really have left is the magazines, which I suspect may need a more targeted audience.

I have the same problem with the cassettes, finally convinced Rob to part with all his old ones, now we don't know what to do with them! Managed to sell the grand total of 1 cassette on LJ - which ended up with postage costing more than I'd asked for it in total!

Do you have a Freecycle group in your area? I've just signed up to my local group, with the hope of advertising stuff to give away - I'd rather know they were going someplace wanted instead of a charity shop where they'd most likely be thrown away! The website is www.freecyclelondon.co.uk
