We'll begin with the background, I met someone at Cirque, got her full name for the intent of looking her up on Facebook. Later realized that there are lots of people with that name on facebook. Decided to say "screw it" narrowed down the possible people who might be here, and wrote a message that I sent to all the one who might just be her.
This previous Saturday evening, I had the pleasure and the privilege of making the acquaintance of an exceptionally graceful lady by the name of redacted, and in a stroke of genius had the foresight of getting her full name for the purposes of finding her on Facebook. It was not until a few days later when I was near a computer for an extended period of time that I realized my folly, which was this. In this whole wide world, multiple people saw it fit to name their children redacted. At this point in the story a wiser man would have blanched, however, I have yet to be accused of being incredibly wise, and thus rising to the challenge, I donned the hat of an amateur sleuth the likes of which has not been seen since Encyclopedia Brown and his many mysteries. After a painstaking process of elimination, which involved pirates, battles, and fish wielding ninjas, something I choose not to elaborate on due to the traumatic nature of the events, but which in reality de-evolved into trying to make out small pictures on a small laptop screen, damn you Facebook... But I digress, I have managed to narrow down the list of possible candidates to a small handful, of which you are one of the select few.
So here is my request.
If you do happen to be the correct redacted I have this to say
Hello, could you please send me a friend request
In the event that you are in fact not the correct one, I believe that my career as a detective might be very, very short lived, or at the very least put on hold until I get a larger monitor. I also hope that this short message has brought a smile to your face in this humdrum reality in which we live.
Either way, best of wishes to you, and I hope you are having a wonderful morning/day/afternoon/evening/night.
I tried to keep it funny and short, though I think I failed a little on the "short" part, and no her name isn't redacted nor is it normally bold. Now to play the waiting game, and hope that she was one of the ones I contacted. Any feedback from the peanut gallery?
