Oh my goodness! Apparently this region suffers regular rains of horrible goop, which gets on dwarves and has them vomiting up blood.

Stay tuned! I'm going to find out if I have a cat's chance in a cat-disintegrating machine before I assign dwarfnames, so we don't have to start again within a few days :-)
