For The Ladies

In older lays of ancient days heroic tales are told
Of ages when the sons of men did deeds both brave and bold.
We scarcely hear and rarely cheer the stories that unfold
Recounting how the maids in braids won glory and won gold

The fairer sex face fates complex when taking up the sword
As fools will spout their specious doubt in manner oft deplored.
But many foes by skillful blows are laid out like a board
When faced by girls with dainty curls they should not have ignored.

So lift a beer and raise a cheer to hail the distaff gender
Who, with their charms, will take up arms and be a staunch defender.
You might regret poor etiquette if you go on a bender
And end up kneeling, vision reeling, forced into surrender.
