Oh, she's considered the Grande Dame of Science Fiction. I read this book when I was ten, then proceeded to buy everyone of her books I could find (there was a used book store near us that sold used paperbacks for 25¢.) She started writing in the thirties, and continued until her death in 2005. She's basically the writer who hooked me into science fiction.

Right, that explains it as I don't read Science Fiction.

Definitely read this one as a kid, though Norton wasn't one of my favorites, but I know I read a few of hers.

I loved her books. They were what started my passion for science fiction. But this one was definitely my favorite.
