I blame McDonald's.

Can I just say that people need to stop using the present progressive tense when they actually should be using the simple present? As in, "I am loving this!" instead of "I love this!" It's actually longer AND more difficult to use the wrong one. So why? Why would you do that? Jesus Christ.

Is there really something grammatically wrong with saying, "I am loving this" if, in fact, one is loving whatever it is right now at this very moment? I'd see it as a stylistic choice. I think it implies a certain "time stamp" not afforded by the more general "I love this."

It must be happening literally at that second or it is incorrect. So, if it's happening at that second - for example, you're discussing food, and your mouth is actually full - then it's ok. Otherwise, no.

haha, that's silly. You can love the process of eating a burger without being mid-bite.

I hate McDonald's slogan because it's stupid: no one loves eating McDonald's except starving children in China.
