Oh wow. I loved seeing the inside of your Freddy's mind, it's exactly him, and I can so imagine him reacting in this way to becoming a father.

I've loved Chess for ages but never thought it might have a fandom, only I saw a great production of it recently that renewed my interest, ran some Google searches, and found this. Thanks for writing it, I really enjoyed it.

If you haven't already, you should talk to Krissy (harbek). I only wrote this because she wanted to see Freddie as a father. She's crazy big into Chess and just about the sweetest thing, she'll get you anywhere in that very, very tiny fandom you need to go.
