Raving: On Ginsberg's Howl

I should start by saying that I know I have not posted anything of value in nearly a year, and I plan to see this changed. In fact, now that I have my internet back and will soon have some time to myself, I hope to see this place undergo some major changes. God, yes. If you like poetry or language or the energy of life it is required reading. It's not an old poem (the original manuscript was written up in 1955) but it's not as impossible to find as many modern poems. Because people can't stop themselves from sharing it. "Howl" feels like it needs to be read out loud and spread to others, shouted from the street and sent vibrating through the consciousness of the whole of the nation.
