Or is this "I will support a UN intervention if you bring me a video of Assad gassing a child on camera and laughing and this is the only standard of proof I will accept as credible"?

I dunno I want to belive he's had a change of heart but as you said his standards for "credible proof" may be vastly different and much higher to ours.
