There's a Kitten on my Laptop

Someone abandoned a kitten outside my house. My family and I have been taking care of her for about a week and a half now. At first she was very wary of people. She would run away anytime we got within a few feet. But, with each day, she's learning to trust us more and more. I've yet to try and pet her, though I think I could. I'm not 100% sure of

Cats scare the hell out of me, even kittens. I think it's because they have claws. They're cute in pictures though. Name your kitten. Your parents will be less likely to hand the kitten off to the shelter if it has a name, right?

Having a laptop is awesome. There are netbooks (super small and nice) for like $200 and they work great. They don't have a high processing speed, so all they do is surf the net and have Word Document on them, but that's all I need. I got my first laptop two years ago. It's a hunk of refurbished junk, and it's slower than my old computer unit at home.

I'm trying to think of a nice androgynous name for the kitten, since I'm still unsure of the sex. Yesterday was the first day I've been able to pet it without it freaking out. I don't want to abuse its trust by picking it up and sexually molesting it. Maybe I should liquor it up first . . .

My brothers still have an SNES which I would steal and play if the games didn't freeze all the time. Now when nostalgia bites, I just have to make do with an emulator, though I apparently didn't download mine correctly either as none of the games will save. Fie on technology.

I bought my laptop thinking the same as you-- that it would be great to be able to write anywhere. But it really hasn't worked out that way. I hope your case turns out differently. I miss the clicky keyboard of my desktop, though.

I'd offer to get the kitten fixed, but I'm broke, and I don't know how much something like that costs (if anything). The main problem is I'm moving out in a couple of weeks. The apartment I'm moving into doesn't allow pets, so I can't bring the kitten with me. My parents will be the ones to take care of it and feed it, so the decision rests with them

I want a Wii, but really only so I can play Animal Crossing. I wish I had impulsed bought it instead of the PSP-- I can't seem to find any good games for this thing outside of the internet.

As for the SNES problem, now that you have a laptop, look for an emulator and you can download and play a bunch of old SNES games. Nothing that's exclusive though-- games like Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby are all out-- but there are still some really good finds. And if you can get your hands on an XBox controller (not sure if it has to be 360-- that's the one I use), you can connect it to your computer and use it instead of the keyboard.

Ha ha ha. I hate that too with the touch pad, though my problem is more the random replacement of the cursor. I'll be typing away and hit it and suddenly I'm back up to the middle of the page. It gets pretty annoying.

The one thing I really like about having a laptop though is that it allows you to use a computer while lying down. Lol. That's my favorite thing about it.

I think some of my friends do that whole emulator thing. I know one of them downloaded Zelda: A Link to the Past and proceeded to play it in class all the time. I don't know, though. I'm weird about things like that. For me, it isn't just the game itself, but the whole experience. Like, I could download a SNES game right now, play it, and feel totally unsatisfied. It just doesn't FEEL right. I want to play it on the T.V., with the SNES controller gripped in my hands. It's much more comforting that way, much more nostalgic; it takes me back to being a kid
