I really need a job. Anytime I see that a place is hiring, I fill out an application. So far the only place that has contacted me is Wal-Mart. I went in for an interview last week. Apparently it didn't go so well because I never heard back ( Read more... )

I hate those questions! Seriously, do they expect people to answer in a non-I-am-full-of-it manner?

Still, sorry to hear it didn't work out with getting the job. Wal-Mart employees aren't exactly the cream of the crop, so I can definitely understand the frustration. Not just at Wal-Mart either but a lot of places... it's just mind-boggling how some people get hired for the jobs that they get hired for, regardless of the level of skill required for the job itself. You just have to wonder at how they were possibly able to work up the necessary energy to make the right impression that they would be good for the job in the first place.

Lols. Maybe you tried too hard, though. Maybe you're overqualified. Maybe you should start dumbing yourself down! (If your integrity can take the hit, anyway.)

BTW, where do you live? Joan and I were trying to figure out if it was North or South Carolina?

Also, I'm being completely presumptive, but you so did not hit me as the Norah Jones listening, khaki wearing sort of guy. D:!

Well, I don't wear khakis often. Mainly just on occasions where I'm supposed to look somewhat respectable.

As for Norah Jones . . . She's good background/relaxation music.

My playlist played into her and I ended up listening to the whole of Not Too Late... though, maybe that doesn't count because I have a third of it ticked not too play. She has a nice lullaby-ish voice.

I lmao'd the first time I read this. You are so smart that they don't want you at Wal-Mart, dude. You should've acted like a retard and coughed up blood and shit and they would've hired you. For job opportunities, I suggest you do a Craigslist work for temporary file clerk stuff. That is the best entryway into a full time job and office admin pays decently for a 20-something year old. Also, internships. I had a slew of internships in high school that made scoring a job pretty easy.
