ADMIN: Revamping the profile, the rules and reopening the community, PLEASE READ
Hello my dear members!
I've been toying with this for a little while. To be quite honest with you guys, I do not like having a locked community; it makes me feel claustrophobic. Also, as I'm preparing for the upcoming Giles/Xander Fest (a post on this is forthcoming in the next day or two, I promise) I've realized that a locked community would not be the perfect place to host it, and opening a new community just for the Fest was not how I'd wanted to go about things. Thus the decision to make gilesxander a public community again.
In order to feel comfortable doing that, though, I've rewritten the rules, and revamped the profile page.
In short, and as such the most important change, all fics, graphics, and other content featuring characters under the age of 18 in consensual sexual situations, be it explicit or not, must be posted behind a lock. I'll be a bitch about this rule, but it's either that, or ban all such content from the community (and as someone who likes and writes slightly underage Giles/Xander fics, this would make me very, very sad).
RULES
1. You may post anything relating to Giles/Xander; fics, essays, recommendations, icons, vids, wallpapers, graphics, everything is welcome in this community.
2. Please use a cut-tag for any large graphics, all fics of more than 200 words, and all adult rated content. Please see the FAQ on how to use an lj-cut tag.
3. All content featuring characters under the age of 18 in situations rated FRM or higher must be friends-locked. If you do not know how to friends lock, please see the FAQ. I am serious about this.
4. Use ratings.
5. Warn for any potentially offensive content. ALL POTENTIALLY OFFENSIVE CONTENT MUST BE WARNED FOR. This includes, but is not limited to: BDSM, non-con, fetishes, other kinks (including daddy!kink, and others), and scenes depicting characters under the age of 18 in sexual situations (be it explicit or not).
6. Fics and art depicting explicit non-consensual sexual situations involving characters under the age of 18 are not allowed.
7. No trolling, flaming or bashing of any kind will be tolerated. I mean it. These actions will get you banned from this community without prior warnings.
Failure to comply with the rules will get you a warning. In the case of a second warning, you will be put on moderated status. A third warning gets you banned. (The ever famous "three strikes and you're out" stance; I like this stance)
With this out of the way, I return you to your regularly scheduled Fandom fun, whatever it may be. :)
ETA: if you've posted to the community within the last two months, you may go back and unlock your post by editing it yourself, and selecting 'public' instead of 'friends' in the security level drop-down box. You don't have to, but you may if you want to.
