are reality and experience always so distinct these days?

given claustrophobic cradles of filth,
versus hollow bastions of faith,
neither will accept my shade.
today, home is everything.
but time and time again in continuity,
i lose that place to belong,
incorporeal fingers barely attempting
to cling on to my vitality.
Midway on our life's journey, I found myself
In dark woods, the right road lost...

When did this all start to run into a nightmare?
Why should I feel cheated by Life?
Where am I going wrong?
What is it?
Is there a last question I should be asking?

you're all about convenience.
you're a friend when you're in a convenient mood to need one.
you're a lover when it's convenient for you to give.
no matter who provides the convenience.
you leave when you've made a mess,
you leave when it's convenient for you to disappear.
your convenience is terminal.
not just for yourself, but for all of us.

i give you dedication and commitment,
asking for nothing but understanding.
i can only give you so much of me...
to give any more would be to forsake my existence.

the pilgrim makes his way through the fourth circle,
and in crossing he would fail to recognise any face,
every face distorted by their sins.
but if he could, he might recognise mine in the horde.
one should understand what is valuable before it is lost.

glory eludes me as gloom drapes itself upon me.
where does my strength to continue come from?
it is a mystery even to me.
if easily we let go then easily we fail.
and fail miserably we will.
do not doubt.

the voice of the inferno calls to me.
it speaks my name in this cold, dark wood.
this is not a Hell that has a path to Paradise.
this is only the Hell that cleaves us for the second death.
