There were many things Balthier did not enjoy. Having his clothes ruined was one of them. He had a few spares of everything, sure, but it wasn't going to be enough to get him through very many days at all. Not if he planned to keep his current lifestyle rolling, which he sure as anything did.

But searching for something new, and nice, would have to wait until tomorrow.

"No wonder this place is such an excellent spot to hide. Who would imagine someone like me coming here?"

He spoke softly, and to himself, as he arrange the button on the cuffs of his shirt to align properly. Buttons. Instead of cuff links. It would simply have to do.

After fussing over the button on the opposite arm for a moment, Balthier finally deemed himself fit to enter the area downstairs. It was a wonderfully convenient place, with his quarters above and the dining area down below. Furthermore, it was clean. Or clean enough. That was a plus ( ... )

And... his vodka was empty.

Great.

This was his second bottle, and he was hardly feeling a buzz. He knew himself well enough to be able to say that after the third one he'd at least be happy. So, rising from his spot, Seifer made his way over to the general direction of the bartender and sat next to some... guy.

Seifer raised an eyebrow at him for a moment and shrugged it off. He was still a little too pissed off to get flirty, though for some reason this guy looked like more than just something to look at. Eh, he didn't particularly give a shit, though.

"Vodka," he demanded aloud. "Now."

Well didn't that just take the cake? Made his night, too. The pissy looking man had actually moved over closer to him. To get at the bartender, of course, but still. Couldn't he have flagged the barkeep down from his previous seat? A place where Balthier would not have been able to smell the vodka he reeked of?

The outlaw sighed a little as the man behind the counter pulled up another bottle of vodka for the blond before turning to him. So the drunk and disorderly were serviced first here? Then maybe this wasn't his type of place after all.

"I'll have a half portion of whatever is the special tonight as well as wine. Nothing too old, it's certainly not an occasion, but you know what they say - a glass a day - and I'm afraid I haven't had mine yet."

As discreetly as possible, Balthier attempted so scoot himself in his seat even a tiny bit further away from the blond.

Before Seifer realized it, he was half-way through his third beer, and the feeling in his head told him it was a good thing. The constant chatter around him was completely irritating (though it was safe to say that there was no real chattering going on at all) and he needed water. Seifer was normally a smart drinker, but his swollen face made it hard for him to stay calm ( ... )
