This episode is about movies... more to the point, bad movies, or just bombs, that you enjoy watching, more than once. All MST3K movies are off limits. A  small and incomplete list of movies I like that very few others appearently did. Not cult classics like Repo Man or the like, just real movies that came and went and only a small part of the ( Read more... )

I like a lot of chick flick type movies. Oh, and Girl Next Door. I think it's a GREAT film.

See, that's the problem for me. I don't think of these movies as BAD... so I don't know if that qualifies. ie: is it really in line with what you're asking if the movie is a stinker, but I think it is quite a good enjoyable film? Or do I have to think it's pretty bad but still like watching?

General public has to think bad. I don't think 13th warrior is bad. Most people do. Not all movies target everyone. You thinking it bad but still liking it is acceptable

I liked Mystery Men.

I think my favorite of this category is Hudson Hawk. Bruce Willis doing comedy on his own, it's got some real charm to it. But a lot of people hated it. heh Along those same lines, I loved 5th Element but a lot of people hated it. I also liked Dead Alive, which is a Peter Jackson horror movie involving zombies. heh

Hudson Hawk killed me with the singing and the trying to be moonlighting (in on it with the audience) and not pulling it off, I think... 5th Element was _the_ bomb except for that one scene with 'What is WAR' Leilu Multipass... but it kicked ass. And I think Dead Alive is a cult hit, peter jackson running over zombies with a lawn mower. THat or it's cause I married a Kiwi and know all about his stuff pre LoTR/HEavenly Creatures.

Nice site man, that kicks ass. I want TV's frank back, and Joel and the whole band, one last real season, no holds barred. Never gonna happen, but They could do SCI-FI channel, first run and do a better job than that channel does.

Unbreakable with Bruce Willis. It bombed and I have no idea why.

I liked it, you sorta have to be into the whole comic thing, if not an avid reader... a sci fi type who gets alternate realities, and shit like that. I think that's why it failed. No one realized that he was basicly unkillable, cept by water, and that he played the normal guy his whole life and resented his wife for it and all that good stuff. It was layered and subtile, and too sub rosa for most pop culture movie goes who got hot on M Night cause of Sixth Sense.

i think unbreakable is possibly shyamalan's best film thus far, actually.

i don't know if this counts, but i seem to be one of about three people who really liked the way of the gun

naw, I had very good word of mouth about that movie. I guess IMDB's ratings might have to come into play. Any movie above a certain point? I didn't do research on this. Is this the one where del toro beats the crap out of a girl giving him lip?

I'd have to add Cabin Boy if it's not on the cult list as well. They'll crop up one at a time I fear.

Chris Elliot is probally the reason Letterman lost out to Leno in the short term. the NBC show was the best latenight show ever.

13th Warrior is probably in my top 10 I'll watch that shit over and over. :P

Antitrust, great flick. Most people I know just blink if I mention it.

Timeline. I don't know why I'll watch it repeatedly, but I will.

Enemy at the Gates. Not sure if it really qaulifies as 'bad' but certainly not popular.

The Recruit. I don't even know what to say about this, but I will watch it repeatedly and enjoy it.

You like the Chriton movies, eh? ;)

Some of those were ok, one or two 'bad flicks' ;) Kingdom of heaven has it's moments. can't get the wife to watch it cause it's 'religious' :o

Well, the movies based on his books are better than the books in most cases, so... ;)

For Kingdom of Heaven, it's ironic that the strongest message I get about religion from it is that those most vocal about a religion are rarely actually living by it. Also, the Hospitaller's (a religious order no less) statement about him not putting much stock in religion and that it was more about how you acted and thought.
