So, I've started reading Finnegan's Wake. Very slow going, but I have, just as when I read Ulysses, decided to read it without the aid of the (100s and 100s) of commentaries, guides, critical essays/books, or any other similar texts. That probably means that I am and will remain largely ignorant of the majority of the text, but at least I get to

I read your writings. I don't know of any other, newer blogging sites with better functionality than LiveJournal; I know a few people who post tagged notes on Facebook, and a couple who're on Blogger (but I dislike its lack of an aggregated friends page), but that's it.

I believe there are programs that let you see who all has viewed your LJ, but I am not technologically literate enough to know how to use them.

Well, it's really the idea of the 'friend list' that I would (and have) missed on other blogging venues.
