Perfect Saturday = trip to downtown LA with Rachel to see the costume exhibit at FIDM.... an exhibit that included the costumes from "Cold Mountain," "Down With Love" and "Big Fish" for me and "Daredevil" for Rach; followed by Oxy's Dance Production with strange mesh-flashlight-helmeted creatures interpretive dancing and then an awesome night spent

Any one who says LA is not a good place to raise kids must definitely not have been to the small, quiet, super-safe, very tight-knit communities like Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Santa Monica, Malibu etc.

They're probably referring to the areas where people of much lower incomes live..

And I very much agree with you on Hollywood/Highland and Mulholland Drive.

despite all the complaints we make about traffic and people and whatnot, there is seriously no other place on earth like los angeles.

we have the best (and most diverse) food out of any place, don't you agree?

Oh, you and your words. :) You summed that up so well. It's funny you wrote that because as I was going to write up eventually, I was going to say that this weekend, when I was in NYC and had to go meet my friend, I was walking down the streets and feeling so amazing and wondering how I could love somplace so much. I'm glad it's not just me who has fallen in love with a city. :)
