Hello! I hope you all have arrived safely in the New Year, and all hang-overs are sufficiently fought.
I have to apologize for my lack of coherent commenst and posts during the last two weeks, my job was very demanding, and the private part of RL took the rest of my sanity.
For anyone interested in my holidays, some ramblings under the cut:

My christmas eve at work was all I could wish for. R. had brought his new bagpipe, a saxophone and a clarinet so we could make music. (Playing the bagpipe in closed buildings is not recommended, though.) There was nice food, some booze and not much trouble with patients. We ended up together in the living room, more or less under the influence of alcohol. Any attempts to start philosophical discussions were cut short by tiredness, we both fell asleep unaware of our surroundings. In the middle of the night I woke up wondering why my heart beat so fast. It took a while before I understood. Zan, you were right on this matter. ;-)
The next nights at work were hell- more or less successful disaster management. In the end, both patients and me survived.
During the short days, I visited old and new friends and my mum& sis. Mum was showing seriously fannish behaviour about her present- a god-child sheep. I received few, but useful and mostly kind presents. (Will deal with granny and PE later.) Caused no trouble with my choice of presents.
Spent New Year's eve with sensei, his family and neighbours. Met new nice people there, but didn't have much time to get acquainted properly- job was calling.
Yesterday morning I used to get a grip on myself after the hard days- sleeping in is fun! (The three wishes of an doc in charge of ICU: sleeping at home, sleeping in, and having this day off- granted maybe three times a month.)
Had to go to work in the afternoon and was greeted by TLi hugging me affectionately. Thus my biggest X-mas wish came true and all the trouble the night shift brought was faced with an unwavering smile.
Now I have to return to studying, and tomorrow 24h shift...

For the new year, I'll try to work harder on my ff-projects and would like to continue my "discussing cannon"- posts. Besides learning for the exams in February, attending Japanese classes and March and doing more for my body (Eek- sports!)
Hope I didn't bore you too much. Wish you a nice weekend, and maybe I can meet some of you on msn.
