Me, my chocolates and Conflux - where to find us

I'm hoping my new approach to the programme will help LJ accept that it's not to delete it. I have chocolates for Friday and very special chocolates for Sunday and something odd for Saturday (and maybe chocolates) and honeycake for Sunday. People don't have to know me to ask for food!

On Friday I'm on four panels.

You're probably already aware of Workrave, http://www.workrave.org/ but just incase...

It's definitely helped me avoid RSI. I've used it for many years now.

Basically, it times how long I've been typing (is bright enough to notice when I take a pause) and tells me when I need to take a break and suggests a few stretches with the breaks.

I've had RSI. A really nasty case. I was told I'd never be able to put my arms above my head again, or carry things etc. Fortunately, I had a good Pilates instructor and much etc (including patience) and I still get twinges, but that's all.

I have had similar experiences, though nowhere near as bad as yours. Finding the right exercises - from a physio in my case - made a big difference to me as well.

I had a lot of good advice from the Open University (I was doing a course with them at the time and they were amazingly helpful to people with disabilities - gave me a split keyboard and other things to help) I think Workrave was one of their suggestions to help avoid recurrence.

The thing that's helping now is the exercises I was given when I got out of hospital. They make *such* a difference.

I've been told that my previous comment has been marked as spam by your journal settings. Possibly because it had a link in it?

The minuet exercise sounds fun - tell me more!

(I'm guessing that it demonstrates rapidly that we can't do something that people of the day took for granted. And that the way the dance is done can impact on all kinds of things from dress onwards.)

Not at all - it's something we do everyday without realising. It needs showing, not telling. One day we will be in each other's vicinity - I can show you then.

Some day. I really would love to see you again. Talking to you was one of the high spots of that weekend.
