R/T fic: The Little Bear Cub

Sep 14, 2008 22:29

Am about to run round and throw more things in a suitcase as Mr Gilpin's idea of "Let's travel light" is plainly ridiculous, but before I set off at some unreasonable hour in the morning, I've posted a farewell fic for some people who have birthdays while I'm away, and anyone else who wants a surfeit of R/T fluff.

Back now from my holiday with hrymfaxe and am able to catch up on the HP fics I requested while I was away. You need to meet Marie, by the way. She is so wonderful it makes my head spin.

Have a wonderful holiday wherever you and Mr G may be off to, and we will await your return.

Back now from my very enjoyable holiday - sorry to miss you in transit! I've barely had time to glance at LJ yet, but I knew you'd have a great time. Marie always seems lots of fun and a personality with a capital 'P' to me; I'd love to meet her one day.

I did my best with R/T fics while you were away, as requested. ;) I think they were the two most physically painful fics ever, but, conversely, lots of fun and distraction to write. And it looks like others have been busy since I've been gone, which is nice to look forward to.

Full holiday report will follow when washing and life etc. under control again, but am determined to do the meme that everyone else did about two weeks ago, and which I was about to type as Mr Gilpin pointed out we really must go right now...

Eep! Somehow I thought you were leaving at the end of the week!

I'm delighted to see your new fic and will enjoy it some evening this week when I really need a lift.

My holiday reading book is Making Money. I'm no longer #8, am I? ;)

Welllll... maybe I'll let you off with a warning this time. ;) I'll have mine in two more weeks!

Have a wonderful time and get that shoulder all rested up.

No worries - I'm back now, and it's the end of the week. So we've sort of caught up to date, lol. I had a great time, thank you, and the shoulder definitely enjoyed it as much as I did. Both of us surprisingly survived five computer-free days with scarcely a cold turkey twitch.

I see you've left me a welcome back present to read, which I'll look forward to, and I think you'll enjoy Making Money. I'm only a few chapters in, but laughing. It reminds me so much of my days working at, and trying to stay sane (the latter didn't go that well;)) in a bank...

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time and got in some all-important rest and recuperation.

I've fallen fairly far behind on all things LJ this week, and still haven't read something I thought for sure I'd have read before you came back, but I've got it bookmarked and I am very much looking forward to it.

Okay, back to work for me! The guest lecture I have to give in *gulp* two weeks is only one page long at the moment, so it looks like Weekend In The Office for me. ...And I am not at all worried about the fact that Making Money and the prompts at Meta both come out just days before I have to give this talk. I won't get distracted. Not me.

Follow my always shining example in non-distraction. Failing that, console yourself with the fact that you've got a whole month to get distracted at Meta, so you can afford to pace yourself and not do it all at once prior to the talk. And I'll only mention the book 'sporadically', so as not to encourage you. ;)

Seriously, good luck with making it into three feet of parchment, and an 'all is well' killer ending. :)
