Winterval is coming to town!

Dec 06, 2011 21:59

There has been fierce competition today for the most irritating moment, and the award goes to approximately 3.10pm when I opened my pack of this year's favourite Christmas cards - because you always save those for the people who deserve them, don't you? - and found that the envelopes were fractionally too small for the cards. WHY? Suffice it to ( Read more... )

Poor Sir Leon! When Merlin's all about dignity at all times as well, lol. (Actually he still looks cute.:D)

What's that about Merlin's dignity?!

Ah, I see he's about to confess to Arthur what a great wizard he is there, and how many times he's saved his life! (And the creepy eavesdropping on Arthur's proposal to Gwen... Oh, never mind about that one.;))

Sorry to say your card woes gave me a chuckle, since I had the exact same thing, except that I over-zealously crafted my own cards and made them just fractionally too big for their envelopes (and then forced them in anyway, lol).

Isn't it maddening? Though I tried brutal force and got a paper cut. That was Most Irritating Moment number two of the day.

Envelopes too small? THIS. CANNOT. STAND.

Actually I'm horrifically late to get cards out. I bought mine at this lovely paper store and I think I'm going to have go back and get a giant rubber stamp that says "Happy New Year" and obliterate any signs it was supposed to go out any earlier. And while I'm at it I should probably look for a "Happy Vernal Equinox" stamp just in case.

An irritating day, you say? It got better, I hope?

You are cracking me up, because we aren't even at Dec 10 yet and you're calling this late?

I can't even think about cards until I've dealt with final grades...

I blame Black Friday and all the Christmas sales! They've given me an artificially induced sense of accelerating time!

(good luck with final grades! I just helped my hubby do his -- I don't know about you but his school's computer system adds another day at least to the process.)

You can't be late, just 'slightly' behind schedule like me. And I'm thinking of moving the schedule!

An irritating day, you say? It got better, I hope?

It did. My main gripe was not being able to log into poor old LJ again for the best part of the day. Fortunately matters improved once I'd moaned to everyone who'd lend an ear (Mr. G gave me a "Do I care?" look and wisely didn't lend any ears, lol).

My Christmas cards came with envelopes that were barely big enough so I had to struggle to get the cards in and ripped a few envelopes while trying, but that wasn't my biggest problem. The envelopes didn't actually seal. They had a little slit for tucking the flap into it and that was it. There's no way that little slit would last at all so I had to tape them all shut. I was most annoyed.

I'm thinking that Santa needs to take a long hard look at his Christmas stationery department. There are worldwide problems that need to be sorted.

Most definitely! I'm not demanding that elves be fired or anything as mistakes do happen, but given the global scale of the mistakes, I think perhaps some retraining during the spring downtime is in order.

Every year we get holiday cards with a picture of The Kid, mostly for family and close friends. I got those cards today, but in a moment of complete WTF-erty, there were no envelopes in the box. :(

In other words, I now feel your pain.

I could send you some (completely useless) envelopes! Of course, there is no guarantee they'd fit anything with you either - what is going on with Santa's stationery department? Grr.
