This is wonderful! Thank you so, so much for a combined birthday and Christmas present all in one, which gave me a giant grin both when I first saw it, and again when I had a post-holiday-rush chance to sit down and really read it. :)

The humor is marvelously sustained all the way through, with sly and witty little barbs that are worthy of the Marauders themselves: or any other areas (!!), and That’s not even a proper curry, you idiot, and far too many more to list. Also the hilarious string of failed prank attempts! I think the serial forgetting of the homework on Memory Charms is my very favorite ( ... )

Thank you for the wonderful review - these birthday fics are very nerve-wracking, lol. I was wondering when I wrote this if I'm sub-consciously trying to deliver what I think might appeal to the birthday person with their prompt: so mrstater and godricgal got romance and baby bliss, duck_or_rabbit got something I should probably worry about, and I 'treat' you to... curry jokes?!

Anyway, I am very glad it made you grin as it gave me a lot of pleasure to write. I did try to have several meanings going on with both honour and the title itself, and you're right on the nose (or the screen;)) that I was aiming for Remus initially thinking it was all for the good that he sacrificed his own 'good boy status' to amuse them. Before realising it was intended to be one last, daft hurrah to boyhood pranks and the Marauders themselves at Hogwarts. And kind of an honourable compliment, as they'd see it, that they trusted/wanted him to do it, with Peter's detention record never even getting mentioned (which I'm thinking would be every bit as good as Remus') or it being ( ... )

Oh my! This is really the Marauders at their best. It's so funny, but not just pointless humour - I love the whole set-up about 'honour' from beginning to end. Each one of the Marauders was so well characterised. All the little snippets about their personality were so apt and so intriguing.

I hope you're not scratching your head wondering where this random reviewer turned up from; I came across it in one of the newsletters, only I had it bookmarked at the time and now I can't remember if it was quibbler_report or hogwarts_today. Still, I had to let you know how much I loved this amusing piece!

Reviewers are always very welcome, especially if they're going to make such lovely comments! I'm very glad you enjoyed it as I did start out with the intention of writing a fairly light-hearted birthday fic for a friend, but I can never resist exploring the fascinating friendship that exists between the Marauders and the word honour did take on many meanings as this went on. I'm really pleased you liked the characterisation of them all as that's one of the best compliments a writer can get.

Thank you very much for reviewing!:D

'Scuse me while I catch my breath, I think the laughing almost killed me.
God, this was funny. I love the idea of the lines- and I do find myself wondering where that gum ended up. Hopefully in a rather unpleasant body cavity of one Severus Snape? Hmm? And the supporting wall. I can almost picture McGonagall standing over them looking stern while they try and get out from under the bricks.
I wont' be able to look at curry without laughing ever again.

Thanks very much for the nice comments! This was lots of fun to write so it's great to hear when someone enjoys it, and I probably got even more carried away than Remus did with the whole curry idea. I did like the irony of him being half thrilled and half absolutely horrified with his standing as the 'good one' amongst the Marauders, and it counting against him with everything he tried.

I can't tell you where the gum ended up, but it wasn't pleasant for Snape. ;)

Thank you again. It's much appreciated!:D
