First off, let me apologize for the lack of updates the past few months. I got a bit held up by finals, Israel, the start of this semester, job interviews, and the likes...but I have some time now, and an issue that I find interesting

first of all, one of my cousins won the lottery. he (almost) immediately quit his job, and now he does sit on his ass all day doing pretty much nothing. he might not lead a very fulfilling life, but i mean.. i'm just putting it out there.
second of all, and i haven't fully thought this through, but our society would stop operating if no one worked. i know it might not be motivation for everyone, but paying your debt to society by filling whatever role you choose as your career is a reason to work. and i do think that point 5 (boredom) plays a large part. we need to be doing something with our time. i know i used my cousin as an example, but i think he's an exception. also, i think the reason people are bored at work is because they haven't found what they want to do. or not even what they want to do, but something they'd enjoy doing. it's not easy to just pick up and start a new career, and i think people weigh the costs and benefits ( ... )

I work in the hopes that I will someday surround myself with friends who, when they are in the same country as me for the first time in god knows how long, will PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE AND CALL, EVEN JUST TO SAY HI.
And I really hope that you're going to university as an ends to a mean of being educated, rather than as a means to an end of working.
Otherwise it's sad, and you might as well just hope for answer number one.
I've checked out the whole box on a street thing, and it really only works out in your favor in temperate climates. You would fail in say, Toronto.
But the moral of the story is, Steven, next time you're on my side of the Atlantic, after me having asked you repeatedly when you're going to be on birthright and knowing that my cell number resides not just with you, but also with your parents, the courteous thing to do is to pick up the phone.
Because it's just insulting to find out about it through facebook after the fact. It's just plain rude.
