what, when were you at my house?? sometimes i feel like i don't even live there. i never know wtf's going on. technically it's not temple city, though.
anyway, the site looks REALLY great. really!
while researching stuff, i learned that dodie stevens grew up in temple city. she sang the song "pink shoe laces":
(i dunno if you're interested in this at all, but i thought it was cool. mainly because i only listen to this boring old-fart music. i have a good quality mp3 of the song if you want it.)
you might try contacting tchs and looking up the old yearbooks for pictures. i know oak archives all its old yearbooks beginning from like the '50s. i got to flip through that shit when i took journalism. it's amazing. some of the teachers have been teaching there for a REALLY long time.
the film screening sounds interesting. i'd be interested in the more casual events.
it must have been sometime in early may...the second week of may? technically, i was only in the driveway/garage for an hour. i wondered if you were around but i thought it would be weird to knock on your actual front door or something? haha i don't know, i am embarrassed.
wow, i like this a lot! i just did some research and found some more stuff on the tchs alumni site. i think there is a lot about Temple City no one knows about. maybe i can start a section on famous temple citians?!
yeah i was thinking about maybe interviewing some of the older teachers, but i am so fearful - i dunno how to approach people. haha well i guess i just have to do it!
hahaha yes..... not really though. actually i got the idea to use indexhibit from you! i spent all these hours trying to figure out how to code and then i gave up because i realized i should probably take a class instead of failing at self-teaching.
Hahahah it's crazy, I remember learning all this code throughout middle school and high school and now a lot of it can be automated with platforms like indexhibit. That's how it is I suppose, but you need to give yourself more credit! You got the expanding menu listings and the transparent menu and some more dooddads. :)
On the real though, I'm glad you took initiative on a project of this scope and I'm sure you'll come across interesting content or lovingly kitsch at the very least. (The change in demographics is something I'm really fascinated with and it's something I thought about a lot. )It's something I'm sure that can be educational for everyone involved.
If there's any way I can help out, please let me know!
