Kate's Birth Story

I'm working on a current entry, but it struck me that I haven't posted since before Kate was born, and she's a fairly significant portion of my life. Also I wrote down the events surrounding her birth but they're just kind of floating, so I might as well induct them into a semi-official life record. And now for the entry of her entry.

You know...I don't know how... like, in all terms of strength, it can really be said that men are the stronger sex. In some aspects, yes, but in others --do they not understand what women go through to bring children into this world?

Seriously. I couldn't believe how excruciating contractions were (from my experience with Will's birth). Not so much a single contraction by itself, but wave after wave after wave of them for hours with hardly seconds of recovery between . . . I can't believe women over history have put themselves through that for child after child. So not to be cliche about "contractions are the worst pain ever and men can never understand," but . . . I suppose the closest comparisons for women are really bad extended menstrual cramps and for men diarrhea that you have to hold in. Going for rough approximations here :)
