I mean more specifically what sort of person he was. I have heard him mentioned in passing, and he seems like he was an interesting individual.

He was...warm. And never unkind -- I so rarely ever heard him so much as raise his voice at a person, even when angered. And he loved food. He could talk about a soup or a piece of pie and make it seem like magic. You'd think he was describing Atlantis. Or lost treasure. He had a way about him where things always seemed so matter-of-fact, and he'd talk like he'd known you for years, even though he so rarely ever said much about himself. He was always very private, honestly. It was a while before I even saw the inside of his cabin, and it was just like him. Cozy. Everything in its place. Full of mysterious charm but something -- comfortable. Like the home you forgot you missed.
