1) Probably after some ill-fated conversation with me.
2) Because I talk about them so frequently and because they've become so damn available.
3) Because Opeth is incredible.

Can't answer the first two, but the latter is obvious: Because Opeth has a way of crawling into your spinal column and staying there forever, just like people think LSD does. It takes a little while at first but once you get hooked on it, you will never ever ever break free for good, ever.
