If I could get the boat...and the backing of at least one country...I'd be a professional pirate. Who cares if I'm hunted down and reviled by some countries so long as I can be hailed a hero in the home ports?

That seems like it would be a highly unorthodox (but very entertaining) career choice. However... you, sir, are about 400 years too late. Maybe the opportunity to carry your little plan forward will still arise during your lifetime, dependent upon whether or not space travel becomes a regular occurrence.

Entry-level? Does a college degree get one nothing these days? I won't settle for less than first mate with advancement opportunities within the next year.

Yes, but wooden ships with sails and cannons is more my style...

Besides...Cruise ships are really big.
