pstogimpbrushes has a number of brush sets. The comm is inactive now because its original purpose, i.e. posting brushes converted from Photoshop to Gimp, is no longer relevant since an update that made it possible to use PS brushes usable. I left it up as a resource, though, and it has links to a number of brushmakers' journals.
