Using GIMP 2.0 (Easily translatable to other programs)

Notice: This is my first tutorial, so I apologize if things seem a bit jumbled.

Notice: This is my first tutorial, so I apologize if things seem a bit jumbled. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

One:
Start off with your base. I will be using THIS one (Credit to ???) of Susumu from Peace Maker Kurogane.

Sharpen Image (Filters-Enhance-Sharpen) and Sharpen by 30%, or until your are satisfied with your image.

Flatten/Merge the Image if you have any extra layers, and now we're done with the base.

Two:
Create a New Layer and fill with #565083. Set Layer to 'Overlay' at 100% Opacity.

Duplicate your base and bring it to the Top. Set to 'Screen' at 100% Opacity.

Create a New Layer and fill with #800000. Set Layer to 'Overlay' at 100% Opacity.

Three:

Paste THIS (Credit to meleada) on a New Layer. Set Layer to 'Screen' at 100% Opacity.

Four:

Add any text, brushes, decorations, etc. in a color that Matches the icon colors.

In my case I wrote 't o r n' in Casablanca Heavy SF Bold in 12pt. Below that and mixing into the other text I wrote 'he now bathes in his sorrows' in Casablanca Heavy SF Bold in 5pt, and turned the Opacity down until it was soft enough not to interfere with 't o r n' but it was hard enough that it showed up.

Five:

For the border, just draw a 2px line around the entire image.

If anyone knows who did the Susumu Base or who did the Mask Brush thing, PLEASE tell me so I can give them proper credit!

End

Well, was it good?
