Reduce gif size?

May 19, 2012 18:23

Hello,

Is it justified that this 245x184 gif that is based on 78 images would have a size of 1.6MB? Or can the size be reduced greatly?

I'm very sorry if my question is very noob, but this is my first time making a gif. :(

You can reduce the size with the "optimize (for gif)" . it's in Filter>animation.
Hope it's help.

Thank you. I clicked on that 'optimize' before I posted this gif, and then I repeated it and it went from 1.6 to 1.4MB. I was thinking though if it is possible to be reduced to something below 1MB?

It's possible by either cutting out a lot of frames and/or reducing the width & height of the gif image. Open the Animation filter and look at it step by step, where you see frames that are redundant you can delete them from the layer stack.

Thank you. Is there a way to delete frames by bulk? There's no bulk option on the Layers menu. I have this Video menu with Delete Frames but the default is set to frame 7th to 8th frame only and when I try to delete they don't work. :(
