To restick it, click on the tool that has hidden itself - the top bar - and drag it back to the empty space that is left at the bottom of the toolbox.

I've been trying to fix that since the last Gimp upgrade! I had an entry like this from May 2006 carefully saved in Memories, but it didn't work any more, because the design had changed and the key element had vanished. So now I'll save this new version, and hope they don't change that bit any further.

Eh, that didn't work. The only thing is that once in the last month or so, I did click on the right thing to re-dock it. But it was an accident also, so I don't remember what did the trick. I might do some looking around on the 'net to figure it out, if I get some time. Grr, arg.

If any of the menus get un-docked and you don't want it docked, you should be able to close it and make a new one which will be docked by default. Click the "Add Tab" button and select it again and it will add the tab as again.
