CoD was one of few games that didn't make you Joe Schmo as your character. Remember you were one of the Pathfinder? The first paratroopers into Normandy? Hours before the legendary 101st and 82nd? Are they not "Basic GIs"?

Well actually in that case I'd make the opposite argument: that they need to include more regular units. The only single player WWII campaign that has ever put you in a remotely normal position in the CoD russian campaigns, but even in these cases they continue to put you at the center of everything.

Well you know 'people' (Liberal extremists) would get pissy if you played as the nazis and glorified victories. I for one would love to play as the Germans in things like Stalingrad and The Battle of the Bulge.
