This hot weather shit REALLY sucks. Seriously. I've gotten to the point where I've decided that clothes should optional when not in public. And have tons of fans on all over the place. The worst part is that the night temperatures don't go under 72 degrees. It wouldn't be as bad if we could get cool air into the house at night, cause it stays cool ( Read more... )

I know! The magically cooler morning was soooo nice. At least it's more of a managable heat. 90s-100s was just TOO MUCH.

Thanks!

It was 100+ in yelm for 4 days... 4 days!! Ick. My grandpa has some neat carrots you'd love, they're called burgundy carots. They're a dark burgundy color around the outsides, almost a beet color. I grated them into a noodle salad and the noodles(cold ramen) turned pink and the peas and cucumber turned brown from all the red. Tasted great, carrots taste like normal, just turned everything... pink. You should see if you can find some of those carrots for your next garden!

We finally got somewhat cooler! Better than nothing.

Haha those sound like cool carrots. Sorta like blood oranges.

The flowers dried! Email me your mailing address so I can throw some in and envelope and sent them your way.

yay for interviews!

You should so put a time-lapse camera on your veggies to see how fast they grow (esp the pumpkins).

Hope your tests go well, and good luck on your interview.

I miss you, and we'll so have to go on an adventure over xmas break! (Doug was sweet and was looking for a ticket for me to go home in the first 1/2 of august, but they're waaaay to expensive :(...was sweet, though)

Good luck job hunting!

Dude! A time lapse camera would be a COOL toy just to get to play with! I love all the stuff they do with them on Mythbusters. I'd totally stick it near the leading pumpkin. I have a lot of fun going and checking on it each day.

Awwww, how sweet of Doug. :-) At least he *tried*, and yeah, plane tickets are really sparse AND expensive nowadays. (Learned that when I went to LA for a couple days.)

We do need to visit if you ever make it back out this way! I need to be better about calling people too. :-/
