Feeling energetic this morning despite the increased pain. :-/ Not drugged like yesterday, and no more fainting after the one time. (Which I don't want to repeat, thanks). It scared the living daylights out of mom. They think it was dehydration-- considering I hadn't had anything to eat or drink for like.... 19 hours, plus all the drugs and such. ( Read more... )

Note to Gin: drinking water is a good thing. Do it.
WTH do they do middle of the arm IVs? They tried that when I was in labor with dd and I ended up with a BLACK bruise from elbow to wrist (finally ended up where I told them to do it in the beginning -- back of the hand.)
"They sent one bit off for biopsy..." Bit of WHAT? Your hair, your liver, your spleen? Or do I not want to know?

Normally I'm quite good about it. Ask Michelle-- I rather annoyingly drag a Nalgene bottle (usually a 1L) with me all over the place. It's habit. But they wouldn't let me have ANYTHING, including water, from midnight on. And then they were behind, and then the medicine made me fall asleep.

Not sure, all the IV's I've ever had (all of 2) were in the elbow. Mom saw them take this IV out and she was like OMG it was HUGE. I don't exactly remember bits and pieces of things. It's given me a 4-5 inch strange looking bruise on my arm, and I really don't bruise easily.

A bit of my stomach wall. They shoved a camera down my throat and looked around for a while. Didn't find much, they said.

After the IV debacle when I was in labor -- 4 attempts in my arm which all failed -- I now insist that everything be done in my hand. I also learned that I have extremely hard veins to get into and that 'baby' needles are an absolute necessity. I will not let anyone get near me without a baby needle. Did they dope you up to put a camera down your throat? It makes me gag to think about it. Have they ruled out gall bladder?
