Another ficlet! The
toy is just too much fun......
And yes, I've been *really* productive lately. I'm shocked. A year ago, if you told me I'd be writing, much less being this prolific, I'd have asked you what crack you were on.
Title: Stay

A/N #1:
stellaluna_ introduced me to the random prompt generator. I can't get enough of it. And she is quite happy if I write things, little or big, no matter where they've come from. It should be pretty much assumed unless I mention to the otherwise, she's betaed/fixed it. And more than likely poked me along in one way or another. Cause that's what she does. And I love her for it. (and sometimes despite it.) :-D
Feedback always welcome.
Mac Taylor / Danny Messer / stay for a while
Mac dresses as silently as possible, trying to sneak out before Danny wakes up. Neither of them have stayed over before, and with the newness of the relationship, lines haven't been explicitly drawn.
He's managed to get his pants back on, and his shirt is hanging loose and unbuttoned as he tries to locate both shoes to put them on in the other room. Just as he finds the heel edge in the dim light from the hallway, he sees movement coming from the bed. He holds his breath unconsciously, watching and hoping he hasn’t woken up. The movement stops, and he lets go of the breath and grabs the shoe. He straightens up and moves towards the door when he sees more movement. His heart sinks, knowing he’s been caught.
“Nuhhh... mmmmm... Mac? Whatcha doin’ over there?” Danny says sleepily, squinting at Mac without his glasses.
Mac opens his mouth to say something, but no words come out.
Danny frowns at him sleepily. “Stay, Mac. Stay a while. Worry tomorrow.”
He hesitates, looking towards the pale light filtering in from the small kitchen, and resists the siren’s song to follow it out of the apartment.
“Macccccccc….” The sleepiness has been replaced by pleading, and even a little whininess. Danny’s frowning, and his eyes are wide open, despite the fact Mac is probably nothing more than a fuzzy blob to him. He’s apparently too proud to say please, but not too proud to whine and pout.
Mac stands there frozen as Danny gets up and ambles up to him absolutely naked. He cups Mac’s face, blurrily looking at him, a soft expression on his face, thumb rubbing gently against the stubble on Mac’s cheek. “Please, Mac. Come back to bed.” He leans in and kisses him gently and tiredly, pushing at Mac’s unbuttoned shirt when Mac gives in and leans into him. Mac’s surprised at the bold move.
The shoes fall to the floor with a forgotten clamor as Danny leads him back to the bed, pushing at Mac’s pants. Mac unfastens them and lets them fall to the floor, climbing back on the bed with Danny. Danny smiles widely when he gets Mac onto the bed, and pulls the sheet over them as he pulls Mac close. “Sleep, Mac,” he says, with a content look on his face. He settles himself up against him and presses a gentle kiss to Mac’s chest, lips brushing against the edge of the large scar that Mac goes through so much trouble to hide.
Mac looks down at Danny, amazed at how quickly he drops off to sleep in his presence. He’s still unsure of the wisdom in staying, and worried about what this concession will mean in the morning. However, he obviously isn’t going to escape Danny for a while, so he caves and settles in temporarily, intent on watching Danny and waiting until he lets go. He doesn’t make it more than a half an hour until he joins Danny in slumber, against his will.
