Dying Changes Everything - Season 5, Episode 1
Rating: D-
Let me see if I can give a synopsis that summarizes this episode in all of its wonderment and glory. Have you seen the other four seasons, then you've seen this episode, only this time Wilson, instead of being House's punching bag, declares that they're not friends and that he has been enabling House and that is over. He's not leaving the hospital because of Amber, but because of House because he spreads misery everywhere. Well, duh. And let me tell you that misery used to be funny. I used to be able to watch this show and laugh regardless of how far away from reality the show is. I worked in a hospital for a long time and believe me I have to suspend my belief of all hospital policy in order to watch this show and that used to be something I could do, that is when the show made me laugh. It doesn't anymore. This episode was beyond boring. I didn't want to keep watching it. House is no longer funny, they've moved him too far away from the brilliant cranky doctor that he was to someone who should not be called a doctor at all and this episode proved that more than anything. In order to manipulate Wilson into staying, House leaves his patient in the hands of four, I don't know what they are, in the hands of his four lackys and goes home. He tells Wilson that she can die. That's not funny. That's not a cranky, self-centered doctor who everyone puts up with because he's brilliant. I'm going to give this show another try next week, but from the previews it won't be any better. I think this one might be moving itself right off my must see tv list.
