I've never heard the term bad faith - usually we just call people like that pathological liars *laughs*. I really know people who do that though. Pretend to be someone and do things that are entirely wrong and not them at all, but they convince themselves it's in their best interest. It's pretty weird, I don't think I could ever pretend to be something I'm not.. probably why I'm so bad as RPGing and fanfiction xD.
Love the wallpapers! Especially the first and the Draco/Ron one.
I've only heard of the term from Malfoy HP talk, so I was quite stunned to look at the lecture notes for that week and see it lol.
I think everyone acts in bad faith at some time or another. Like going out to party when you know you should be doing your assignment. Even though you should stay home, you end up going out and convincing yourself it's the best thing for you at that moment. :)
Interesting! In fact, it was only two days ago that I looked up the meaning of 'bad faith' myself and found some interesting things about Sartre. And I can so see both Lucius and Draco rationalise to themselves that what they do is right. Something else I found was that it's apparently a law term. There, bad faith is intent to decieve or mislead another in order to gain some advantage, or entering a transaction with no intent of ever living up to its terms...
That too sounds much like the Malfoys to me, so perhaps JKR has something in mind for either of them?
And... you know me: I'm so definitely taking Lucius/Severus and Lucius! Guh! And the Lucius/Severus matches my LJ! So cool! :-) They are all wonderful, you know.
Oh hey, you're right! I didn't even realise until you mentioned it that I chose the exact same pictures and positioning as I did for that thing I made you. Wow. :)
I never thought of looking up the meaning of 'bad faith' either. I mean it's one of those words you have some sort of idea about, but you never really know for sure, and you can't be bothered to go and and research it. So I was quite stunned to discover it in my lectures note. I swear the only thing keeping me awake during that was thinking about how it might fit in with HP. You know, that's what they should do with every lecture. Somehow get it to tie in with fandom lol!
Really? Oooh, that is very interesting...I can especially see that being true for Draco.
Love the wallpapers, of course, especially the first one. Not a Lucius/Severus fan; I just like the design, and the fact that they're two of my favorite characters.
