THE HUSH SOUND / CARAWAE / MOBILE
The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Monday August 27th, 2007
last night was pretty insane.
we left about 2:30, after we picked Karly up from volleyball practice.
We got to The Intersection at about 4:30, and we were 7th and 8th in line, idk Karly counted,
We listened to The Hush Sound's sound check, and it was pretty sweet.
oh, and it was I who graffiti-d the bathroom.
I did it at mcdonalds on the way there too...
call it tradition.
The opened the doors a little after 7 and we were on the barrier and a little to the right, between Chris and Greta, but closer to Greta...
The first band, Carawae was pretty good, the lead singer reminded me of Shaant because of the way he moved around.
and then when he was explaining this thing about staring at people, when he does this one part in one song, he was totally staring at me, it was awkward.
The drummer was pretty hot.
favourite picture:
The second band was Moblie, they were from Canada... yeah
They sounded better recorded then live, and they were pretty boring...
and they were all kind of old.
The drummer was the hottest (do I see a trend?)
I didn't get any pictures of them, BUT i did get a set list, and they signed it for me afterwards...
The Hush Sound were amazing. I spazzed out pretty hard.
they played Echo and I almost died I swear,
Me and Karly were the only ones who knew Love You Much Better (one of the two new songs they played)
And Greta totally noticed.
They also played As You Cry, who's name I couldn't remember until I asked Darren after...
and I almost cried when they said 'This is our last song' and played Wine Red, because they didn't play Momentum
but then I did cry when they came back, and played Momentum as their encore.
and Tides Change was crazy, they made us sit down and then jump back up and dance like crazy, and it was awesome.
and in the beginning people started moshing against the front, and Bob made them stop because it was uncool.
I didn't get any pictures of THS because I was way to into it, sorry guys.
after THS we stood around for and I caught one of Darren's drumsticks and gave it to Karly, she got it signed.
I got my Carawae CD signed, and those guys were awesomely nice and funny, and I bought one of their shirts, and they gave me a free EP.
I got my Mobile set list signed...
and we waited around and I got my copy of So Sudden signed
and I bought a Carawae shirt and CD(above) :
and a THS sweatshirt:
and I took some stickers (above) and a poster:
and then we waited to get stuff by THS signed, and met everyone, took a picture with Darren:
and talked with Bob and Darren for a little bit while we waited for Greta, and my mom got a picture with Greta:
and that was about it, Greta was so sweet, and she borrowed my sharpie, well, a lot of people did, #1 concert lesson: always bring a sharpie, haha
and yeah, so it was pretty amazing.
