Everyone is unhappy about the direction the country is heading in -- being generally hated by the rest of the world for being arrogant, bullying, way-of-life-imposing, capitalist fatcats who will do anything to make a profit. This is not the average American's fault (unless you consider that a little under half of America actually voted this administration into power -- twice.). Most of the world wants to love America. They want to see us liking cheeseburgers, and being harmless and naive and the sort. They can't do that with the state we are in now. We are one of the only countries who have yet to ratify the Kyoto Protocol and vow to cut our greenhouse emmissions. We took over a country that didn't do ANYTHING to us, threw down and convicted a dictator that we, in fact, helped put into power. Then in the reconstruction of Iraq, the administration has pissed away BILLIONS of dollars to private contractors who are paid based on how much they spend, and then not held accountable for piss-poor work. I stumbled across your journal and really liked this. I would have to say the media is, while within their rights of free speech, spinning all of this horribly. I hate hate hate that people cannot think for themselves and have to look at a news channel for ALL of their information.
