Ginalin, can you try for a settlement of less? Don't pay attention to those commercials, but you can do it on your own. We owed like, $1,000 or so, and they settled for $600.
I can't think of the number of the form, but I'm sure you can google it.
I hope things look better medically. I do know, from two friends in OH, that getting disability can take a LONG time. It took Debbie 4 years, and Laura is working on her 2nd year since she filed the application.
And $300 is outrageous! I know my g/mother had the same situation, almost $400 for her meds a month. It's ridiculous that we treat our elderly that way! Don't get me started on that subject.
Well, disability for mental illness is a whole different ball game. My aunt got it within a month for being diagnosed as bipolar. Seriously, the act that Tipper Gore pushed through back in the 80s made mental illness disability a priority over any physical issues.
We have already paid the IRS over $10,000 in back taxes out of our tax returns...this is just what's left over, interest and penalties. They might even waive it, if we have a hard luck story. They're just squeezing us to get is to respond, my mom in laws accountant will call them for us Monday and get it worked out or we'll file offer and compromise, and get it taken care of. I was pretty bummed and I think I made it sound a bit worse than it actually could be.
Oh good. I'm glad that yours might go through quickly. I know it's been frustrating for Laura, lately. And Debbie bitched alot about how long it took - and she's been in a wheelchair for five years!
I know, our neighbor applied for physically based disability and he's been in the process for over a year. The man has hep C and MS and can hardly walk some of the time, but they still held him up. But, he got it today, and they're paying him back to 2008...rejoice! He called us this morning with the good news.
Ruth, I forgot to thank you for the card you sent me...it was very helpful, believe me. Big thanks and hugs to you for the support.
We'll work all this out, it's just the fall out from losing the business in 2008.
When I get some financial aid, things will be better. Sarah gets her grant money in early November too, but it's getting her to college now, that's the important thing.
It's been recommended to me not to seek work, and to just apply for disability, whatever I can, so I can focus on getting the right medication. I will now be eligible for more help to go to college, too, which is good news for later.
I"m taking depakote now, which seems to be a lot better for the mania. I Have an amazing pharmacist who said that'd be the best drug for me and the doc offered that or seroquil and I asked for depakote.
thanks...I need to see what aspects are throwing this at my husband..it's mainly affecting him first, then us, by association. He's doing great health wise, though, except for his hearing. We're seeing about getting him hearing aids.
