I see a surgeon next Thursday to consult about getting the evil gall bladder out. Hopefully not too close to Thanksgiving, but I don't know how much choice I'll have with that, since even on a low to no fat diet it's acting up pretty regularly now

I just wonder where they'll turn when the Republicans can't magically fix their economic woes either?
There's no way in hell they can, and promising that is just plain old irresponsible AKA dishonest. Telling what people what they want to to hear, regardless of party, is as lowdown as politics gets.
Frankly, at least in this area, I heard almost no negative campaigning from Dems and no promises of quick fixes for the economy. I heard nothing BUT negative ads from Republicans and all sorts of inflated promises to cut taxes, make more jobs and lots of coded blather about "family values and hard work" which means the Christian Right Wing Agenda of course.

Being uninvolved solves nothing! People who think not voting makes a statement aren't looking at the big picture...that merely allows those who do participate to have a greater say than you do over what happens to you.
Why don't people get that?

Oh. Hell. No.
I told one asshole in work back in the Bush Jr. era that I will only stop voting when they pry the lever out of my cold, dead fingers.
I pissed off the same asshole (what is it with some men that they don't learn that I'm armed and dangerous because I have a brain and a temper?) by telling him Obama was not my savior, my savior was a liberal Jew that Fox news misquotes all the time.

Some of the campaign ads were unbelievably negative, and the worst here were all Republicans.
Winning a campaign by negative means is a sorry ass way to win, if you ask me. That feeds on ignorance and fear, and we sure have more than our share of that running around.

I find it pretty silly for people to think it was even possible for anyone to turn the US economy around in two years. The GFC was compared to the Great Depression and WW2 really only ended that. Though I highly doubt a WW3 is the answer to the world's economic issues in 2010, ha.
