they got within 10 miles of tbilisi but never went into the city--that was the point they were trying to make, i'm sure. they wouldn't have ever gone into tbilisi. i don't disagree with you when you say that they were pushing it--that's the russian mentality, if you will

i like that you put Putin in there even tho he "isn't in power" at the moment.... and i listen to NPR until the BBC takes over; don't think those rightfully count as your typical american journalistic endeavors... tho i also read the NYTimes which, i have to say, oft times falls into that yank category of "news".
and i always like how people are apt to point out the sources of others' but not their own. you're getting russian news, dear. how is that again? i remember their reporting on the chechnyan hostage crisis in the theater. lies and lies thru it all. state sponsored, of course.
faulty comparison with california--- puerto rico would be a better comparison.
all that aside, i'll be in Prague in November... don't have plans of going any further east, but if you have any desire to make it west, let me know.
medvedev is the president, but that doesn't mean he's completely in power--putin IS the prime minister and medvedev IS his puppet, haha. putin is very much in power, and will be for a while...
all news lies--russian or american. but i do trust the sources over here for the time being--i'm not too stoked on america helping out georgia right now because i think they have the wrong idea...
but anyway, that's just me being stuck in the middle of russia and america. it's hard to pick a side.
prague's a good place. i'll see what i can do in november...maybe if i can head out of here, i'll meet you in some dark bar late at night or something. that'd be fun.

I will say this, 'Peacekeeper Troops' sounds like an oxymoron.
