I spent my entire life not knowing that Chris McCandless ever existed. I was ten years old when he died, and it wasn't until the movie came out recently that I found out who he was. And since then I guess I've been sort of obsessed with him and the whole story. I decided to read Into The Wild, which I finished last night, and then see the movie

charlie rose discussed the movie and the topic of wanderlust in-depth with both emile hirsch and sean penn. i have yet to read the book or see the movie, but it's def a story that transcends gender. penn touched upon that in his interview.
