Honey, if you get your mind out of the gutter, you won't be able to write porn anymore. I doubt you'll be able to stick to that one ;)

As for Muse, I reccommend my three favourite songs from their "Absolution" album - "Sing for Absolution", "Butterflies / Hurricanes" and "Time is Running Out".

Franz Ferdinand, I suggest "This Fire" (sometimes spelt ffire), Matinée and Darts of Pleasure.

You should also check out "Somebody Told Me", "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" and "Andy, You're A Star" by The Killers.

I'm afraid I cannot help you on The Darkness front, as I detest their singer. But I hope the rest helps.

Thanks muchly for the recs -- I actually went out this weekend and spent a bit of money (on myself! *gaspshock*) to get both Absolution and Permission to Land (Darkness's CD). Hopefully I can pick up Franz Ferdinand sometime soon, as I can't seem to get enough of them. :)

Okay, I totally ran out and bought Absolution this weekend, and that was before I read your comment, so we are psychically connected like whoa. ;) Unfortunately, Absolution was the ONLY album they had of Muse, so I'll probably have to download anything not from Absolution.
