Define "decadent"

You know what feels decadent?  Doing your work while 12 violinists, a cellist,  a flutist, and a pianist play heavenly music behind you.

Do you hear me bitching and whining about the reports I'm currently going through?  Nope?  Because the hotel I'm pilfering Internets from has wonderful musicians playing music at the lobby.  Talk about soothing and ( Read more... )

The fic you're talking about, or promt, rather... I dunno, it reminded me of Fiesta by Hemingway. ^^ I don't know why.

Yes! It does sound totally Hemingway! But not as sparse as his writing, maybe in the style of Garcia-Marquez!

This makes me want to write fanfic where character A meets character B in a small hotel in an exotic land where not very many people speak English. They bond and banter and have hot sex and fall in love. This will be amidst wonderful string music and exotic food and lovely beaches...

And the reason you're not doing this is...? ;)

But oh man, would I love sitting around with that kind of music in the background. I used to get it all the time (one of the perks of going to a college that has a conservatory) and man oh man do I miss it.

I don't have tiiiimmmeee!

That kind of music, string music, to be exact, just relaxes me with no fail. My college used to be beside the College of Music, so I know where you're coming from. Even the sound of people tuning their cellos was heaven!

You should have bonked her in the head. It's not prohibited in our country. Then when her parents ask why you did that, you can say

"Oh, was that a head. I thought it was a talking pig."

I'm kidding. You should have told her to go to hell. I would have. Fuck. *seethes* Sorry, overprotective me.

She was just so whiny! Even more whiny than I am! :s

The girl probably shuttles back and forth from Japan and the Philippines. Japan can have her forever, see if I care!

That does sound decadent. But too good to be true, as evidenced by your new little friend.

It was so great that I stayed a few extra minutes to enjoy the next song... which I shouldn't have done. If I'd left earlier I wouldn't have encountered the prissy little girl. :(

But then you wouldn't have a new friend! So staying longer was the best choice. For sure!
