I'm interested in the "Mindful Path" book.
Did you find it more helpful than "Embracing Joy"? I think that was the name of the book and online course we took a couple years ago. If I am correct, both stress acceptance of discomfort/pain/etc.

I am still hoping to get the "Field Guide to Now." Our local B & N doesn't have it so it might need to be an amazon thing.

Mindful Path is really AMAZING. I wish I read it before I did Awakening Joy for the first time. Awakening Joy (I'm doing it again) will build on the basics I FINALLY understood while reading Mindful Path. Maybe I just needed it all spelled out the way the author does. I have half the book underlined and tons of notes- I plan on reviewing it constantly.

You mentioned how you love gessoing. I don't mind doing it, per se, but I hate the way it feels on my hand when I try to journal over it. Hence, another question on that square notebook. Do you have to gesso on the pages to make them tougher for collage work? An important factor for me. Thanks, Chel!

For collage with medium or something like YES paste or glue, it will be fine. For anything moist (watercolor wash, spray inks, etc.) you'll need to gesso the pages.
