I bought hairsticks. I am quite excited about them. It was so easy, and I wore them to work today - 5 minutes to put it up, no pins, just the sticks, and it stayed in place all day without any loose bits or falling down or anything.

You make it sound so easy. I could never get a nice pretty knot like that in my hair without someone else doing it.

Thanks! And it was so easy - it was just a case of twisting. I think having fine hair helps a lot.

The quilt top is done - I just need to get some batting and sew it all together with the back, and then quilt it. But the hard work's done.

Wow, wouldn't have thought that! I was *this* close to going in there today to look for hairbands, but then I decided I couldn't cope with all the pink fluffy stuff taking over the shop!

I know! I was looking in hippy student shops, and ethnic shops and so on, and they were in Claire's all the time. They had a whole range - nothing spectacular, but some decent starter ones.
